When a fleet shortlists dispatch software, these three names come up most often. We work inside all of them daily on live accounts, so this is a comparison from the operator's side of the screen rather than a feature-grid summary of vendor websites.

Why these three

Autocab is the UK incumbent with the largest installed base. iCabbi is the cloud challenger that pushed hardest on the passenger experience. Cabica is the newer cloud-native option that has been picking up small and mid-size fleets, and it is the one we recommend most often.

Cordic and TaxiCaller are also worth considering — we cover all five in our full platform guide — but these three account for most shortlists.

Day-to-day usability

The metric that matters is time from answering the phone to the driver having the job. Every second there multiplies across every call at peak.

Cabica has the shortest path of the three for standard bookings. The interface is modern, uncluttered, and holds up on a smaller screen — which matters more than you would expect for agents working a second monitor or a laptop. New agents reach productive speed fastest here.

iCabbi is close behind and clean, with more of the routine work automated away so the dispatcher handles exceptions rather than every allocation.

Autocab is the most powerful and the most dense. Everything is available, which is precisely why there is more to learn. Experienced Autocab dispatchers are extremely fast; new ones take noticeably longer to get there. Onboarding an agent onto Autocab reliably takes us longer than onto Cabica.

Access control and remote working

This is the section most buying guides skip and the one that matters most if any part of your desk is not physically in your office — outsourced, home-working, or a second site.

Cabica taxi dispatch software Preferred platform

Why we point fleets at Cabica. It is a cloud taxi dispatch and booking platform, and being genuinely browser-based changes what an outsourced desk can do. Named agent accounts, precise permissions, instant revocation, no VPN into your office and no software to install on our floor. Fleets already running Cabica are consistently the quickest to go live with us.

Cabica is genuinely browser-native. Named accounts, scoped permissions, instant revocation, nothing to install, no VPN. When an agent rolls onto your account they get access in minutes; when they roll off, you revoke it yourself in seconds. For an outsourced desk this is close to ideal.

iCabbi is also cloud-based and works well remotely. Permission granularity is good, though administration is a little more involved than Cabica's.

Autocab supports remote access and plenty of operators use it that way, but the setup takes more work and more coordination with the vendor.

Whichever you choose: never use shared logins. It is the most common access-control failure we encounter, it destroys your audit trail, and it makes offboarding anyone a manual scramble.

Automation

iCabbi leads here. Its automated dispatch logic genuinely reduces the number of decisions a human makes, and for a high-volume app-first fleet that translates directly into lower dispatcher headcount.

Cabica automates the routine sensibly without hiding the reasoning, which we prefer from the desk — when something unexpected happens, you can see why.

Autocab has deep automation available, but configuring it well is a project rather than a setting.

A word of caution on automation generally: the more the system decides, the more your team needs to understand the rules rather than trust them. We have seen fleets where nobody could explain why the system allocated a job the way it did, and that is a bad place to be at 2am.

Should you switch?

If you are choosing your first proper system, or you have outgrown something basic, we would start you on Cabica. Shortest learning curve, cleanest access model, and the least friction if you ever remote-staff or outsource part of the desk.

If you are already on Autocab or iCabbi and it works, migrating for its own sake is rarely worth the disruption. Platform changes cost you driver retraining, data migration, a period of degraded service and real management attention. The saving has to be large and durable to justify that.

The exception is if your current platform is actively blocking something you need — you cannot get clean remote access, or you cannot issue named accounts, or reporting will not tell you your abandonment rate. Those are structural limits, and they do not improve with familiarity.

Whatever you land on, we run desks on all of them. The platform decision should be made on what suits your operation, not on what your outsourcing partner prefers.

We run outsourced taxi dispatch and contact-centre desks from Lahore for fleets across the UK, Ireland and North America. Everything here comes from work on live fleet accounts, not from a keyword tool.
